Art Educator / Visual Artist
Daniel Sanchez
I am a Los Angeles based art educator and visual artist with a background in studio art, design, large format graphics, and hands on creative work.
Â
My work has always been connected to process, problem solving, and turning ideas into something visual, intentional, and meaningful.I care about art that feels honest, thoughtful, and connected to people’s experiences.
Â
Whether I am teaching, designing, or making my own work, I value patience, craftsmanship, reflection, and the process of building something with purpose.
Teaching Pedagogy
My teaching is grounded in the belief that students learn art best when skill, meaning, and process are connected. I want students to understand that art is not only about natural talent or making something look finished. It is about learning how to observe, make choices, solve problems, revise, reflect, and communicate visually. I design lessons that give students structure without taking away their voice. Students need clear expectations, demonstrations, vocabulary, and support, but they also need room to make personal decisions. I want students to build technical skill while also understanding how their own ideas, cultures, interests, and experiences can shape what they make.
Teaching Approach
Skill and Process
I teach through demonstration, practice, feedback, and revision. I want students to understand that strong work develops through patience and process, not just talent.
Student Voice
I give students structure while leaving room for personal meaning. I want their work to reflect their thinking, interests, culture, identity, and point of view.
Cultural Context
I connect projects to artists, history, visual culture, and cultural traditions so students can understand that art is part of a larger human conversation.
Reflection and Growth
I use critique, artist statements, discussion, and reflection to help students explain their choices, recognize their growth, and take ownership of their work.
